We are getting ready...

Our trip to Japan will begin at the end of June. To get ready we have done these things:

We have studied Japanese for about two years.
We applied for and received our passports.
We bought several guidebooks for Japan.
We each bought a suitcase.

We are working with our Japanese friend Hiromi to plan and make arrangements for our trip. We plan to spend a week in Tokyo, a week in Hokkaido, a week in Kyoto. I don't think our last week is planned yet.

While we are in Hokkaido, we plan to go to Shikotsuko, Sapporo, Furano, and other places. These are some of the hotels where we will be staying:

冬休み

この冬休みはあまりなにもしませんでした。すこし勉強したりうちであそんだりしました。

(This winter vacation, I didn't do much. I studied a little, and hung out around the house.)

Here is a mouthful from Pimsleur's "Speak and Understand Essential Japanese":

あいにくしつれしなければんならないんです。

I think it means: "unfortunately if I do not excuse myself it will be an unfortunate thing." This is essentially the same as saying すみません in some situations. It is a mouthful.
