On the way to Ibusuki

Ibusuki is towards the bottom of Kyushu, and it takes a while to get there by train. So we said goodbye to Nagasaki.
Nagasaki reminded me some of San Francisco. They had old style electric cable cars

Here is the shinkansen we are riding.

This is the Nagasaki train station

We had to wait a bit, so we stopped in a restaurant that had a replica of the old-style boat

The countryside was just as beautiful here.

Then we changed trains to JR West, at a brand new station that was extremely clean

Charles and I shared a bento. That's a japanese box lunch

As we got closer to the coast, the surroundings began to look more tropical.

We passed an active volcano. In a few days, we will be staying very near this volcano.

Here is the view from our hotel room. I will have better pictures in the next post.
